“No D” Luka Doncic blasted by Skip Bayless after Andrew Wiggins ends his career with season best poster dunk during Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals

Luka Doncic was spectacular but still not enough for the Golden State Warriors, as the defense of Dallas collapsed under the unstoppable force of the Warriors. Skip Bayless wasn’t leaving Luka alone, as Warriors waltz past the Mavericks in an emphatic 109-100 victory at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas. The vintage, ‘3rd-quarter Warriors’ stormed Dallas and poster dunked their way as Curry dropped 31 points while the Man of the Match, Andrew Wiggins, bagged 27 points. Golden State once again asserted their dominance over Dallas to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, in the Western Conference Finals.

It all seems to be a spiraling black hole for Luka Doncic who tried to carve path of hope for the Mavericks with 40 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists, but fate did not favor him again. Despite the combined 46 points from Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie, Dallas did not have enough in the tank to finish off the win to get back in this series. Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleber, two downtown experts for Dallas, missed all 12 of their 3-pointers combined and were 0-15 overall, in what was a calamitic shooting display from Dallas.

Stephen Curry was once again the spearhead of the Warrior’s offense as he finished the game with 31 points, 11 assists and 5 rebounds on 10-of-20 shooting and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Wiggins produced a playoff career-high in scoring with 27 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while also throwing down a highlight-reel poster dunk on Luka Doncic. Klay Thompson bagged 19 points as Jordan Poole and Draymond Green scored 10 points apiece.

“Big Bird in defense” – Skip Bayless slams Luka Doncic again for unfulfilled defensive duties

A couple of days ago, Skip Bayless taunted Luka Doncic by focusing on his poor defensive capabilities, calling him ‘Larry Bird’ in offense but ‘Big Bird’ in defense. Bayless claimed the Slovenian was leaking the points in defense which cost Dallas the lead, and ultimately the victory. Doncic had a poor outing in Game 1, where he scored only 20 points on 33.3% shooting. He has since dropped 40+ points in Game 2 and 3, but all have been in vain.

Today the entirety of the American Airlines Arena had to pick up their jaws from the floor as Andrew Wiggins had a liftoff on court, landing with authority a thunderous , soul snatching , nerve racking, poster dunk on top of who else but Doncic himself.  The officials had the whistles up as soon as the play was done and they called an offensive foul on Wiggins but the Golden State Warriors challenged the decision and after a review, it was called legal and the dunk got counted. The attitude of that dunk by Wiggins added salt to injury for the Mavericks and specially Luka.

Skip Bayless, who doesn’t even consider Luka to be a ‘Superstar’, has although praised him for his offensive firepower, but has equally condemned the lack of his defensive awareness. Doncic has been putting up outrageous numbers this postseason for Dallas, and is aware of the poor record while defending, individually and collectively. He stated in his post-game press conference after Game 2 that Dallas needs to improve on their ‘bad defense’, although there was little improvement in Game 3.

It was a crushing loss for Dallas, no team wants to fall behind by three games in a playoff series, as the Mavs try to find a glimmer of hope to work with. Golden State have slammed their foot down and have been dominant through this entire series, they are now just one win away from reaching their sixth NBA Finals in eight years.

There’s still work to be done here, Doncic and the rest of the Mavericks squad will surely do everything in their power to try and extend this series and avoid a sweep. Can The Mavericks spring a historic comeback from 3-0 down against the mighty Warriors, the chances are bleak. Will Skip have a jab at Doncic’s defense in Game 4? Without any doubt !
