Luka Doncic joins elite company with Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan after unreal playoff feat vs Suns
Luka Doncic powers Dallas Mavericks past top-seed Phoenix Suns with a double-double performance at home. With his 26 points, he joins the elite list of players like Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan, for supernatural feat in playoffs.
Dallas Mavericks put on yet another clinical performance at the American Airlines Arena to level the playoff series 2-2 against Phoenix Suns. Luka Doncic led from the front for the home team and found support in Dorian Finney Smith this time to thrash the Suns for 2nd time in a row. Devine Booker did try to make things difficult for the Mavs, but his solo effort was not enough as Chris Paul failed miraculously with triple-singles.
Luka Doncic has now scored 655 points over his first 20 playoff games.

Doncic scored 26 points with 11 assists and 7 rebounds tallying a total of 655 points over the first 20 playoff games. The surge made him 3rd highest scorer of all-time behind only Wilt Chamberlain (705) and Michael Jordan (718) – of course, most amongst the active players.
Record setting Luka Doncic
Even before his 655 points, Luka was 2nd fastest and most efficient scorer to reach 500 points in the playoffs. Doncic did it in 16 games with an average of 33.5 points per game just behind GOAT Michael Jordan who had an average of 33.4 points and reached the milestone in 14 games.
Doncic currently is in form of his life, scoring buckets from every possible angle on the court. Doncic is shooting above 50% from the field and 40% from the three-point line. Marquee player of Dallas has been in terrific form since setting foot in the League. The Slovakian, drafted as the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, already had many accomplishments for his country and European club Real Madrid. But his entry into the best league in the game of Basketball had been equally sensational.
Luka won the Rookie of the Season award in 2018 and was only the second European player behind Pau Gasol (Spain). He was the youngest player in NBA history with a 30-point, 20-rebound triple-double when he thrashed Sacrament Kings with massive 34 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists at age of 21 years 158 days.
The triple-double king has already set many franchise records at this young age. He broke Coach and former Mavs Guard Jason Kidd’s tally of 21 triple-doubles (in 500 games with the Mavericks), as Luka had 22 triple-doubles in 120 games. Currently, he has 46 Triple Doubles and ranks 10th on the all-time list – just at age of 23.
Congrats to @luka7doncic of the @dallasmavs for moving up to 10th on the all-time TRIPLE-DOUBLES list! #NBA75 pic.twitter.com/QIWzYSELGH

The list may go on for “the matador”, but his influence on the team and game is massive. Monty Williams and Phoenix Suns will be aware of “the Luka threat” taking the series back to Phoenix. The next game will be played on 10th May.
