Elite Scorers from young age Luka Doncic, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant
Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks in scoring as they survived an elimination encounter against Golden State Warriors. With his latest master-performance Luka joined elite Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant for yet another record.
Golden State Warriors entered the America Airlines Center determined to close out the series and move into the NBA finals. But Dallas Mavericks also had to prove their point and extend their stay in the postseason. Luka Doncic again flourished in a tight game, leading the Mavs to their 1st victory over the Warriors in the 2022 playoffs. He had yet another scintillating performance that put him on the elite list of players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant.
This was Luka’s 17th game with 30 or more points, leveling with Kobe and KD in the list of players who had the most 30-point playoff games before turning 24. LeBron James leads the list with an incredible total of 21 games.
Luka Doncic firing on all cylinders in the playoffs

So long we are used to seeing the different beast in LeBron James when it comes to the performing in the playoffs. But young Luka is also doing similar things in the postseasons. This is his 3rd playoff appearance and the 2019 rookie of the year thrived in each of them. He bettered his regular-season performances in respective seasons and even looked like a leader in all the success his team had so far since his inclusion in the league.

Especially in the 2022 playoffs, where Luka played 14 games out of 17 playoff games, he still, lead the league with 447 points in the postseason. He leads the league n points per game with 31.9 points. Also, carrying the offensive load of the team, he is taking most attempts (324) and even making them (150).
Talking about the record, just like LeBron James did it for Cleveland Cavaliers, Luka Doncic is looking after adding points to the team’s tally. But he took just 27 games to reach that many games, whereas LBJ took 46 games.
Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant had some support from the team – limiting their scoring runs. Kobe, entering the league at a very young age, had an opportunity to play more games before turning 24, but he was starting from the bench for starting years of his career, playing minimal minutes in the game. Similarly for Kevin Durant, he had young Westbrook and Harden share the scoring responsibility.

Nevertheless, Luka’s achievement can’t be ignored as he once again proved to be the catalyst for the Mavs, who survived a late surge made by the Warriors and won Game-4. Doncic scored 30 points, 14 assists, and 9 rebounds in the game. He had great support from Dorian Finney-Smith who scored important 23 points in the game.
As for the Warriors, Stephen Curry was a bit of a tough game, scoring 20 points. Game-5 will be played in San Francisco and the Warriors would not want any more hiccups in the series. The game will be played on Thursday night.
