The Dallas Mavericks played their final In-Season Tournament game of the season on Tuesday night against their in-state rival, the Houston Rockets. Luka Doncic had to put on a show to help the Mavericks defeat the Rockets. They won 121-115 to close out the evening. With extremely efficient play, Doncic finished with a game-high 41 points, giving the spectators a thrilling moment. One notable incident during the game involved Dillon Brooks.

The crowd could sense the pure energy on the court early in the game. It resulted in a heated exchange between Dillon Brooks and Doncic. After Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets missed a layup, Luka Doncic gave him some of his own taste. Luka defended him as he drove to the basket, but Brooks missed a left-handed layup. Luka had a few things to say to Dillon after he secured the rebound.

I love playing against him. I respect him so much for what he does. We were laughing too together. It’s always fun.

Luka Doncic has joined the group that includes Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, and Lebron James in trolling Brooks on the court. Recall that Dillon referred to LeBron as “old” and that he scored forty points in game six. Curry embarrassed himself by shaking him off with a crude crossover and then pulling a “Home Alone” face. The last one involving Russell is still being discussed and heatedly argued in court. Luka became the latest to join the club.

Luka Doncic puts an incredible stat line

Doncic is the first player in more than 40 years, according to StatMuse, to have a stat line of 40+ points, 9+ rebounds, 9+ assists, and zero turnovers. On January 9, 1982, against the Detroit Pistons, Magic Johnson was the last player to accomplish this feat.

Magic had 40 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, and no turnovers in the end. Luka Doncic’s outstanding play helped the Dallas Mavericks defeat the Houston Rockets 121-115.

Ultimately, he had nine rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and 41 points. He didn’t make a turnover either. Earlier, Luka Doncic had injured his left thumb on Saturday night against the Rockets. Doncic persevered in playing despite the injury, and at halftime, he had X-rays taken, which came back negative. After a left thumb MRI on Sunday in Dallas, the doctor determined that he had a “low-grade” sprained left thumb.

The final day of group-stage games saw the Houston Rockets needing a win to enter the quarter-finals. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks had little chance of making it to the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, Luka balled out with an incredible stat line and spoiled the day for the Rockets.
