“Play like the superstar you are” Magic Johnson calls out Nets star Kevin Durant after Celtics go 2-0 up

Magic Johnson is back in the headlines and this time it’s because of Kevin Durant and not the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers as it’s been a long time since they wrapped their season around. The Brooklyn Nets have been on a complete rollercoaster since the start of the season. They were ruling over the eastern conference but then the injuries got them to the play-in tournament. They also lost their Big three as James Harden walked out due to Kyrie Irving being part-time and the team being down bad. But now the things are kind of back on track as Kyrie Irving is a full-time player since the New York City lifted up the vaccine mandate, Kevin Durant is healthy, and the Nets have won the play-in tournament and made it to the playoffs with a better roster.
The Brooklyn Nets as of now are going all in and against of the Jayson Tatum-led Boston Celtics but they surely aren’t having a great time in the series. As the Boston Celtics hosted them twice at the TD Garden and got both the dubs. Both the games played so far in the series were closely contested and head to head but it seems like the Celtics are the better one as of now. Since they lead the series by 2-0 and have a great chance to advance ahead as they are out for revenge. Kevin Durant in both the games hasn’t been that good and great as he isn’t able to break down the Celtics with his godlike offensive powers.
In game 1 Kevin Durant dropped 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists while making 9 out of the 24 attempted shots from the field and 1 from the 5 attempted three-pointers. The story continued in Game 2 too as KD got himself 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists while going 4 for 17 from the field and 1 for 2 behind the arc. He was good on the line in both the games though. But Magic Johnson just said it out and loud as it is big time for the superstar to step up and make the series tough for the opponents.

Magic Johnson on Kevin Durant
Magic Johnson had some advice for Kevin as in a tweet from his personal Twitter handle he quoted: “Kevin Durant had another poor shooting night and if the Nets are going to win, he’s going to have to play like the superstar he is!” KD is really a game-changing superstar whose bag at every end is deep enough to carry any team around in any series but lately, things aren’t working right for him as the Nets are down by 2 games.
Magic Johnson was not at all wrong with his words for Kevin Durant. As he is really the superstar who has got it all and can turn around any narrative at any given time. The problem for him as of now is the Boston Celtics physical plays as they closely contest him every time they see him with the ball and the poor shooting he is suffering with. But still, it isn’t done as the Brooklyn Nets will be hosting the Boston Celtics at Barclays Center for Game 3 with home-court advantage and KD will also be lethal for the Celtics as even he is hungry and wants revenge for the last two games.
