Magic Johnson stops live game analysis only to applaud Stephen Curry whilst first-quarter domination vs Celtics
Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry
Magic Johnson has been a real one whenever it comes to appreciating greatness. As once again he made it to the headlines by appreciating the first quarter greats of Stephen Curry who is also the greatest shooter of all time. The Chef individually had one of the best performances around but unfortunately fell on the losing end. As the Jayson Tatum led Boston Celtics ran an unreal comeback in the fourth quarter and stole the game which was actually sold away by the Dubs themselves as they weren’t able to hold or even slow down the striving Celtics who wanted to win it all and that’s what happened. Stephen Curry though got his flowers for his godlike heroics on the offensive end early in the game by one of the greatest point guards ever Magic Johnson.
The Golden State Warriors hosted the Boston Celtics at Chase Center for Game 1 of the NBA Finals. It was a very important game as both the teams wanted the early lead in the series and as a result, it was closely contested and head to head. But the first three quarters had the Warriors winning the game. But that just didn’t age well as the shooting greats of Al Horford and other Boston Celtics’ stars in the fourth quarter got them the dub. The Celtics made a 12 points comeback and ran a 17-0 run against the helpless and speechless Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors in the last quarter of the game. The final box score stands at 108-120 favoring the Boston Celtics. The Celtics also outscored the Warriors by 24 points (40-16) in the final quarter and made history. Magic Johnson though got the best part of it as rooting for the Warriors. As he spectated the first quarter while analyzing the game.
Stephen Curry in the game dropped 34 points (21 points in the first quarter itself), 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. A video clip of Magic Johnson is going viral all over the internet as he stopped the in-game analysis to just praise the fired-up Stephen Curry in the first quarter who was bullying and dominating the Boston Celtics and gave away hopes of winning it all and dropping at least a 50-point bomb. But that just didn’t age well.

Magic Johnson on Stephen Curry’s first-quarter heroics
Magic Johnson was a part of a segment of ESPN 2 and joined C.J McCollum, Tim Legler, and Michael Eaves for discussing the game. He had to ignore and divert the questions from him towards the godlike offensive heroics of Stephen Curry. As spectating him hit a three-pointer over Grant Williams with a beautiful play. Magic Johnson quoted: “I got to stop you, Michael, wait a minute. That man, that same man just hit another three, didn’t he? Steph Curry.”
Stephen Curry in the first quarter was unreal as he dropped 21 points, made a record, joined Michael Jordan on the elite list, and made 6 three-pointers. So all the praise by Magic Johnson is very understandable as you don’t get to see such performances every day especially when the NBA Finals are on.
