The Orlando Magic made an unexpected turn with their first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. With many feeling, Jabari Smith Jr to take the top honors, the franchise went ahead of Duke forward Paolo Banchero and secured his seat int he team. And now it comes to be known that, the Banchero has already started to settle in within the team with other young players.

Cole Anthony shared an old picture of Paolo Banchero after he was acquired by the Orlando Magic with the caption, “Look what I Found.” However, to defend Magic’s youngest recruit, it wasn’t the most embarrassing picture one could reveal. But jokes apart, having been proclaimed as the No.1 pick, will Paolo Banchero be able to live up to his hype in the 2022-23 season.

Banchero is a good fit alongside Franz Wagner and the pair could be a really lethal two-way duo, alongside Wendell Carter Jr. as their center. Paolo Banchero’s arrival will probably lead to the Orlando Magic finally moving on from Jonathan Isaac after he has spent two seasons out with injury. It should be notes that the spoken off franchise have drafted big forwards in back-to-back years now.

Banchero is a very complete player for his age. Moreover, his defense may take a while to catch up to the NBA level, but he does have all the tools to be an extremely solid contributor from the get-go for his team. That being said, there is no conclusive evidence whether this is enough to bring the Magic into playoff contention knowing the competition in the particular playoff. What we do know is that Orlando is finding the right pieces for a very bright future in this league and surely fight against the big guns, having all weapons at their disposal.

Orlando Magic has abundance of young talent in their roster, with the likes of Cole Anthony and Snuggs helping out Banchero on the offensive end, this team can cause a major stir in the league if all the pieces assemble start to click, game after game.
