Kendrick Perkins has slammed Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks for ducking their post-game interviews following a game 4 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Memphis Grizzlies suffered a 117-11 loss at the crypto.com arena to put them 3-1 down to the Lakers. Morant and Brooks both had poor games and, despite being the leaders of this unit, did not attend the post-game presser.

Perkins took to Twitter to say – “Damn boys ducking post-game interviews after a L?!!! Gotta man the hell up and face the music. It’s part of the game! Real Talk.” Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks have been vocal members of this squad, with Morant claiming the Grizzlies are ‘fine in the west’ back in the regular season. Brooks has been the center of attention in this series after trash-talking LeBron and getting outplayed by him ever since.

Brooks also refused to talk to the press after their game 3 loss, following a torrid start to the game, which saw him go 1/9 from the field in the first quarter as the Grizzlies trailed by 26 points early in the game. Game 4 was a much closer affair which went to overtime thanks to a herculean effort from LeBron James, who grabbed a playoff career-high 20 rebounds to go with his 22 points.

Game 4 between the Grizzlies and the Lakers saw low-scoring performances from most players barring Desmond Bane, who went off for 36 points but to no avail. LeBron James shot poorly from three but came up huge in the clutch with a looping shot off the glass in regulation to tie the game with 0.8 seconds left. Anthony Davis blocked the Grizzlies attempt to win the game to take it to overtime.

Overtime saw a barrage of missed threes from Memphis while James and Davis led the way for LA combining for nine of the Lakers 13 points in overtime. Up by 3 points with 30 seconds to go, LeBron James matched on to Dillon Brooks in a moment that Brooks said he was looking forward to all series. However, the Canadian guard got schooled by LeBron James, who took him to the rim for a bucket and the foul to seal the game.

The Grizzlies now stare at a 96% chance of losing this series, as only three times in NBA history has a team come back from 3-1 down in the first round. Ja Morant had a lot of swagger and confidence in the regular season, and it is all starting to fade as he ducked the press conferences after the game to add to the scrutiny. LeBron James has never given up a 3-1 lead in his career, and the way he is playing right now does not look like he will either.
