“Man time please slow the hell down” – LeBron James feels old as Dwyane Wade’s godson turns 15
Dorell Wright's son celebrates his 15th birthday and gives Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James a reality check

LeBron James
Dwyane Wade is Godfather to ex-Miami heat forward Dorell Wright’s son. LeBron James, Wade, and Wright became close friends during their time at Miami Heat. The King posted on Instagram wishing Dorell’s son and said, “Man that boy dun got HUGE!! I remember him back at 3 years old too! Man time please slow the hell down!” LeBron was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers back when Devin was born and was yet to join Miami.
In the video LeBron replied to on Instagram, Devin is seen mentioning LeBron amongst other Miami players as his favorites as a 3-year-old. Mia Wright, Devin’s mother, posted a series of clips of Devin growing up around sports and meeting his idols. Devin is playing basketball in school right now, so maybe if LeBron can withstand half a decade more he might be able to play against Devin too.

Dorell Wright had a respectable 11-season career in the NBA which included stints at Miami and Golden State. Dorell however never played a season alongside LeBron James. LeBron joined Miami the year Dorell left, however, LeBron became friends with him through Dwyane Wade. Wade was at Miami since 2003 and met Dorell as a rookie in 2004. Devin’s birthday has given LeBron a good reality check as to how long he has been playing in the NBA. It is worth noting that, Wright did return to the Miami Heat in 2016.
LeBron James is no stranger to playing against his opponent’s kids

LeBron James has been in the league for so long that he has played against 9 different father-son duos. Since his debut in 2003, LeBron has not looked back, averaging more than 20+ points in every single season of his career. On his way, he has dominated legends like Gary Payton, Glenn Robinson, and Glen Rice to name a few. He has also played against all of their kids.
LeBron James got reminded by rookie Jabari Smith Jr this season that he played with his dad too. “You played against my dad… Your first NBA game ever,” said Jabari to LeBron James. Jabari is right as LeBron did play Jabari Smith Sr in his first NBA game against the Sacramento Kings. King James might go on to play against many more father-son duos but the only one on his mind would be his own son, Bronny.
LeBron has stated on many occasions that he wants to end his NBA career on the floor with Bronny. Bronny is currently in his last year of high school and will enter the draft after a year of college. LeBron on the other hand never played college and joined the league straight from high school. Bronny will be eligible for the draft in 2024 and there is little to no doubt that LeBron will be playing till then.
