Marcus Smart and Kevin Durant

If there is one player apart from Jayson Tatum who haunted the Brooklyn Nets throughout the 4-game series, it was newly crowned DPOY Marcus Smart. Who not only halted the scoring prowess of Kyrie Irving after Game 1 but managed to torment the opposition on the scoring end, proving just how impactful and crucial he is to the current Celtics’ side.

However, with Kevin Durant being the lone warrior for the Nets in Game 4 as well, the 2014 MVP went onto impress Marcus Smart as well. The latter was left stunned after Durant knocked a one-legged 3-pointer in the dying moments of Game 4 as Boston Celtics handed KD with his career’s first-ever clean sweep.

With just over 5 seconds remaining on the clock, Celtics held a 6-point lead over the Nets and Smart had the responsibility to guard KD, making sure he is not fouled. The Brooklyn Nets marquee rose to the occasion to knock a departing one-legged 3-pointer, which left his bamboozled, to say the least.

Take a look at the video, to see the honest reaction of Marcus Smart on the unreal one-legged 3-pointer by his competitor-

Talking about the individual performances from Game 4, Smart had a huge outing as he managed to register 20 points and 11 assists against his name. While the Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum with 29 points. Although the 24-year-old could not stay on-court after being fouled-out with just over couple of minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. On the other hand, KD had game-high 39 points, Seth curry and Kyrie Irving had 23 and 20 points respectively.

The good news for Smart and the rest of the Celtics is that they won’t be facing Durant anymore after taking them out in the first round. The bad news is that they face the prospect of matching up against Giannis Antetokounmpo if the Bucks are able to defeat Demar DeRozan and Zach LaVine led Chicago Bulls in the first round. Pretty sure Marcus Smart is very excited about that, though.
