“F*ck you…this league is rigged” Mark Cuban accused Shaquille O’Neal, Miami Heat of winning ‘FIXED’ games
Dwayne Wade, Shaquille O'Neal and Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban has always been in the headlines as fans love him for his courtside stories. He is also the fan-favorite owner in the league as he’s one of the nicest and coolest guys around the game. But there have been times where he has shown his other sides too especially when the game is on line and it gets heated up due to controversial calls. The NBA officials have always been in the headlines for their controversial calls as every time either one of the team and its fans are left upset and they feel like they got robbed. Mark Cuban though is a very patient guy but when it comes to winning and losing games he isn’t the one to hold back. As being the owner of the Dallas Mavericks the most important thing for him is to stay on the fortunate winning end.
Mark Cuban now is back in the headlines for his 2006 NBA Finals stories. The Dallas Mavericks got a trip to NBA Finals against the Shaquille O’Neal and Dwayne Wade-led Miami Heat. But many believe they got robbed and the officials got the job done as the Miami Heat got their hands on the championship in six games. But Game 5 was the more spicy one as Mark Cuban accused the league of fixing matches and called the league rigged. He also got into some action with the officials for a last-moment controversial call which basically was a wrap-up for the Mavericks.
After the game, Mark Cuban was fined $250k for several acts of post-game misconduct. He was unhappy with the officials allowing the Heat to lift up the championship even though the Mavs were the favorite ones to win it all. He was angry with the league and the commissioner David Stern as many reports during those days claimed the same.
Mark Cuban accused Miami Heat for winning rigged matches
According to a Miami Herald Report the frustrated billionaire Mark Cuban allegedly “turned to [David] Stern and other NBA officials who were seated at the scorer’s table and was overheard to shout venomously in the jubilant din, ‘F*ck you! F*ck you! Your league is rigged!” This got him in the headlines with several other sarcastic acts of his like being “Fine with the Fine” and taking shots at league officials and even the commissioner. The story still lives even though he has denied it but many still believe that the 2006 NBA Finals were rigged and the refs were the ones getting the job done as the league wanted to meet the viewership goals.
