WATCH: Markieff Morris charges at Jeremy Sochan following accidental takedown attempt
Markieff Morris and Jeremy Sochan get into heated brawl mid game after the Spurs rookie tried to takedown the veteran forward.

Markieff Morris and Jeremy Sochan
The Brooklyn Nets visited San Antonio to play the Spurs on Tuesday as they continue their journey without Kevin Durant who is side-lined because of an MCL sprain. The former MVP is expected to be out for up to 6 weeks. It was a low-scoring affair that ended up with the San Antonio Spurs edging out the Brooklyn Nets behind 36 points by Keldon Johnson.
In the second quarter of the game, two fiery characters Jeremy Sochan and Markieff Morris came together after an illegal screen by Morris on the Spurs rookie. Upon review, the officials assessed a flagrant 1 to Jeremy Sochan for “unnecessary take-down” of Morris. That is one interesting ruling seeing as though from the video it looked like Morris led with an elbow.
“He actually did a wrestling move to me. I said that was impressive. I told him that,” Morris said. The veteran was also asked what he knew about the rookie coming into the game, Morris answered “He was a draft pick this year, he’s got yellow hair, shooting one-handed at the free throw line.” Now? “He’s still got yellow hair.”
Jeremy Sochan compared himself to and named some of the most famous disruptors in league history as his inspirations. The rookie said, “I’m trying to be that disruptive player like Draymond Green, Patrick Beverley, and Jae Crowder. They all have one thing in common and it’s being irritating. Being long and athletic and disruptive, that’s what I try to show in my game and my defense. It helps to get some players off rhythm. I just try to execute that as well.”
3 straight losses for the Brooklyn Nets without Kevin Durant

After a scorching run of 18 victories in 21 games, the Nets looked like the outright best team in the entire league. But then, disaster struck, and Kevin Durant went down with a sprained MCL injury, the same injury that he missed time with last season. Last season, the Nets completely fell apart. Will it be the same story this year?
Well, Nic Claxton doesn’t seem to think so. “Last year, it was kind of a toxic environment,” Claxton said. “We didn’t know if everybody wanted to be here at the time. This year there’s no divide between everybody that’s out there. We’re going to figure it out. We’ve just got to figure out how to play with each other without having KD, Kyrie [Irving] out there on the court. It’s different lineups. But we’ll figure it out.” There’s a lot more internal confidence among the Nets this year and it will be interesting to see whether the team can finally fulfill its potential as a title contender.
