Despite sitting out five minutes of action, Luka Doncic recorded his tenth triple-double of the year and led the Dallas Mavericks to a 112-104 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday night. He was taken to the floor by Corey Kispert’s charge, and he lost five minutes in the third and fourth quarters. The Mavericks’ head coach, Jason Kidd, was impressed with Doncic’s thrill.

Luka was already nursing a broken nose, and his chin was hurt in the match versus Washington. Despite needing stitches and suffering several injuries, the Mavs were able to play again. Despite playing for more than 37 minutes, Luka led the Mavericks to win in the fourth quarter and finished with a strong 26 points. Jason Kidd provided an update on Luka Doncic’s injuries during a press conference.

The HC appreciated Doncic and called him the toughest kid. Jason Kidd said,

Doncic got an appreciation for his braveness, which he showed for today’s match. Kidd gave reassurance about the Doncic condition and he said that Doncic had some stitches and he was alright.

In addition to Luka, Kyrie Irving has a sprained thumb as well. Even with their tough approach, the Mavs could ultimately lose the season due to an error.

It's a different feeling. She won't remember it, but I'll remember it forever. It was her first game. She was sleeping the whole time. But it's a different edge.

Speaking of the Mavericks, they have a chance to contend in the Western Conference if Luka and Kyrie continue to set the standard and Dallas’ supporting cast members step up. NBA players Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic have established themselves as one of the best tandems. It was challenging to build the required level of chemistry between each other and the entire team after the deal last year. Kyrie has appeared a lot more at ease in Dallas thus far in the 2023–24 campaign.
