The Cleveland Cavaliers have been on a charge since the turn of the year. Today they went up against another playoff contender, the Dallas Mavericks, who are on a mission to win games and move up the charts. The daunting task meant the game was close, right until the last few seconds. So it required an unreal game-winning buzzer-beater from Max Strus to win the game for the Cavaliers, leaving NBA fans stunned.

The game clock said 2.6 to the end of the game. The Mavericks were ahead by 1 after trade deadline acquisition P.J. Washington finished a pass from Luka Doncic. Max Strus inbounded the pass to Evan Mobley, who then passed it back to a streaking Strus.

Strus launched the ball from behind the half line. With the game-ending buzzer already sounding out and the ball still in the air, Cavaliers fans waited. The ball went in to bring out a rapturous roar from the entire arena.

The Cleveland Cavaliers fought to counter the massive offensive production from the Mavericks two superstars throughout the game. With both teams on a tear this month, form was not a problem for either. Hence, it needed this buzzer beater to settle the score. The Cavaliers won the game 121-119 behind double-digit performances from almost all of its starters.

The Cavaliers have been the best team in the NBA since everyone exchanged New Year greetings. With this win, they continue to solidify their 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. And they have to thank Max Strus and his unreal buzzer-beater help keep their spot.
