NBA legend Michael Jordan has had several of his used items sell for a lot of money. So when he sees something that he used in the past, he tries to figure out where they got that. One such incident happened with former Washington Wizards superstar Gilbert Arenas‘ son.

Arenas mentions a situation when his son Alijah participated in Jordan’s basketball camp. Alijah went up to the megastar with one of his old shorts in his hand to get it signed. When Jordan saw the shorts were his, he asked Alijah where he got them from. When Alijah said he got it from his father Gilbert Arenas, Jordan asked him where the rest of his items were. Arenas said while talking about Jordan:

He knows every item!. He left all his game and practice stuff... he signed all his old practice stuff. I wore his orthotics throughout my career.

Arenas alludes that Michael Jordan and his team keep a lookout for his former used gear. So for Jordan to see his shorts in front of him while being possessed by someone else was hilarious for Arenas.

Arenas goes on to mention that he has a lot of the old gear Jordan used during his final days as a Wizard player. Arenas claimed that he wore Michael Jordan’s orthotics throughout the rest of his playing career. He clarified that most of the clothing athletes use is custom-made for them. So there is a reason why Jordan is looking for his former items as they can fetch a lot in auctions.

Arenas was talking about Jordan on Paul George‘s podcast Podcast P with Paul George. So when Arenas added hilariously that they saw a combination of Agent Zero and MJ on the court, George and his co-hosts burst out laughing. Agent Zero was Arenas’ nickname during his playing career.

Michael Jordan’s memorabilia are highly valued on the auction market

Michael Jordan is a rare athlete. Therefore his memorabilia are bound to attract buyers who want a piece of the rare athlete. Such is the demand for Jordan items whose values have soared to great heights. A signed Dream Team jersey Jordan wore in the 1992 Olympics sold for $216,00. Several other notable jerseys have gone for more than that on the auction table. His famous Air Jordan 1 shoes have sold for more than $500,000. Even player cards of Jordan go for thousands of dollars.

No wonder Jordan had that reaction when seeing Alijah with his game-worn shorts. Arenas says Jordan was a good sport and signed all of his old clothing items that Arenas possesses. Arenas will hold on to this special memory.
