“Irreparable Damage” Michael Jordan cut all ties with Sports Illustrated after ‘SHAMBOLIC’ disrespect

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan and LeBron James are undoubtedly two of the greatest athletes to have ever stepped onto an NBA court. Since their emergence in different eras, media and sports outlets have been running around to fetch their hands on their supremacy. On the same note, Sports Illustrated was one of the biggest names to have ever worked with both these GOAT candidates.

However, as LeBron James and his two sons have been deemed as the ‘Chosen Ones’ for Sports Illustrated, Michael Jordan decided to part ways with the company for one of the most disrespectful reasons from the company’s end. Fans would be aware that during his initial stint in the NBA, the (currently) $2.2 billion worth Michael Jordan had quite a nice relationship with Sports Illustrated.

The Chicago Bulls icon, Michael Jordan did plenty of interviews with them, was in touch with some of the writers, and overall, had some serious respect for the organization. That being said, something happened after his first retirement from the NBA.

You see, after his switch to baseball, Michael Jordan hit upon his first real bad patch. During this time, a writer for SI, Steve Wulf had this to say on a piece he wrote what is stated below-

“Michael Jordan has no more business patrolling right field in Comiskey Park than Minnie Minoso has bringing the ball up-court for the Chicago Bulls.” there are simply no words to define what the ‘victim’ might be going through after this disparity.

To make matters worse, one needs to know that the worst part was that you have actual MLB personnel who watched Michael in action and had this to say. On one hand, where Jordan was struggling with his own problems, the disrespect attached to his name, made him realise about the loyal supporters and admirers he had around him, especially during his worst. Would Sports Illustrated be any different if such a case was to happen with LeBron James? Do let us know in the comments down below.
