Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets haven’t been that successful over the past years. As they haven’t got any deep runs into the postseason and the last time they got into the playoffs was in 2015-16. And, since then it has just been several unsuccessful attempts. But now it’s time to change the story as Michael Jordan has taken things personally and wants to end up on the winning side as that’s the only thing which matters in the league. But to get the job done the Hornets obviously require a great team which has the potential to win. And, in order to have the right pieces around Black Jesus has officially stepped into the market and is in the race to sign Donovan Mitchell.
The Utah Jazz have made it very clear that Donovan Mitchell isn’t untouchable as they were testing him in the market for a while with teams like New York Knicks, Lakers and Nets. But now Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets have also entered into the race as Shams Charania reported earlier. Michael Jordan being a legend of the game, a Hall of Famer and also the G.O.A.T for many fans around. He truly knows what is required to form a championship roster. Honestly, he hasn’t been that good of an owner in the past. But now it’s time to come up in clutch and Michael Jordan isn’t the one to miss such important shots.
The Charlotte Hornets already have a young roster full of guns ready to go for war out there. They already have LaMelo Ball and are building the team around him but are currently missing on their forward Miles Bridges whose future is very uncertain in the league as he’s behind the bars. The past two seasons had the team limited to the play-in tournament and now even they know certain adjustments have to be made in the roster for them to be on the winning side. So Michael Jordan and the front office trying to land Donovan Mitchell is understandable.

The Charlotte Hornets can be a perfect spot for Donovan Mitchell. As him suiting up alongside LaMelo Ball will send serious shockwaves around the league. As that can be a deadly offensive duo. And, recently Michael Jordan and the front office parted ways with their head coach James Borrego and brought back Steve Clifford into the system. So them heading towards some defensive play-style can be seen. The addition of Spida into the roster will give the team two All-Stars and players to rely upon. So with correct chemistry and adjustments made, there’s no doubt about the fact that the Hornets can get themselves a deep run in the postseason.
But landing Donovan Mitchell won’t be that easy for Michael Jordan and the front office of the team. As they’ll have to give up a lot of young talent and future first-round draft picks in the exchange. The Utah Jazz can prefer a package around players like Terry Rozier, James Bouknight, JT Thor or others with a couple of first-round picks. But the exchange will be fair and worth it as the Hornets will also get a solid chance of having a deep playoffs run which hasn’t been possible for years now.
