“He’s gonna have to trust somebody” Michael Jordan gave heartfelt advice to Tiger Woods, dealing with personal issues
Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods
Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods have a friendship which dates back to decades, when Black Jesus was leading the Chicago Bulls and destroying the whole league. They were and are best friends since then and have been guarding each other’s back whenever necessary. Both Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are regarded as G.O.A.T by many in their particular sport. As MJ rules the hardwood and his best guy does the same on the green field. But being this famous and decorated personality also brings in some unwanted prices which are to be paid. Criticism, trolls and unnecessary hate are some of those.
Tiger Woods is still out there playing golf and enjoying his time on the green fields. But last years haven’t been that great for him as his professional career was doubted, criticized and trolled by many around. But he didn’t give up and fought it all out as he really was and is the best in the business. Even Michael Jordan suffered with the same problems but he was just a different beast who monstrously ate it all during his time with the Bulls. But after his second retirement and also after his third retirement life was a bit harsh and tough for him too. So Michael Jordan knew exactly what was going on with Tiger Woods. As he also had a piece of heartfelt advice for his best mate.
Michael Jordan’s advice for Tiger Woods during his rough and tough times
Tiger Woods was kind of stuck in the past and wasn’t really accepting to open the door next to him. Michael Jordan being a real one knew it and said it all out in an interview with ESPN in 2016 which distanced the brotherly love between the two Legends. But fortunately, things are good between them now, even though they aren’t the very same with each other. MJ in the interview talked about Woods and how he is stuck in the past and trying to erase the things which happened while not accepting the fact that he isn’t going to be the same ever again, since all of that is now gone.
Michael Jordan being the Black Jesus summoned it up at the end by quoting: “The thing is, I love him so much that I can’t tell him, ‘You’re not gonna be great again.’” He was being a real elder brother but was too harsh there which didn’t age well with Tiger Woods. But further MJ also gave a heartfelt advice of his to his best guy as he didn’t want him to struggle and wanted him to be happy in his life while enjoying his time. He wanted his mate to start trusting people around him as it’s not easy to get out of the box he was stuck in.
Michael Jordan advising Woods quoted: “He has … no companion. He has to find that happiness within his life, that’s the thing that worries me. I don’t know if he can find that type of happiness. He’s gonna have to trust somebody. To be fair, all athletes are sensitive. Tiger is at times sensitive… Things come full circle. Who’s to say they won’t get to a place where they’re friends again? You say you’re sorry and you pick up where you left off. That’s a true sign of a friend.” MJ proved he is a real one as his advice was logically very correct and also a hint for the struggling Mr. T. Hopefully he’s all well now and both of them can repair the bridge between them and bring the brotherly love back which surely exists.
