Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players to ever grace a basketball court. Throughout the years, fans have nicknamed Jordan the G.O.A.T. – the Greatest of All Time. It appears fans are using this nickname as an opportunity to remind Jordan of his standing in the basketball world. Yesterday, when Jordan went to the Bristol Motor Speedway, fans welcomed him by making goat sounds.
The Chicago Bulls legend, after retirement, is rarely seen frequenting public spaces. In fact, he’s primarily seen in public only for basketball-related events. However, Jordan owns a NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, which explains why he was at the Bristol Motor Speedway. At the speedway, he met Columbian singer J Balvin. Balvin is a superstar and is one of the best-selling Latin artists. Also referred to as the “Prince of Reggaeton”, Balvin appears to be close friends with Jordan, one of the rare few who can make that claim. In fact, he’s so close to Jordan that he once convinced him to give Balvin his own Air Jordan sneakers.
In a video that went viral, Balvin and Jordan can be seen hugging while fans attempt to imitate a goat in the background to welcome him.
It seems that Jordan’s security guard initially didn’t recognize J Balvin and tried to dismiss him. However, Jordan intervened and signaled to his security to stand down. Their first encounter occurred in 2019 during Paris Fashion Week when Balvin expressed interest in discussing the possibility of launching his own Air Jordan shoe with the basketball legend. Their friendship began when a marketing executive connected them.

While Michael Jordan is a beloved figure among fans worldwide, he is seldom seen in public. This is largely attributed to a decision he made early in his career.
From the early days of his NBA career, he recognized that he had no desire to actively chase the limelight. For him, being a public figure was never the goal.
