“They’ve gotten in a tough spot” Michael Jordan, Hornets slapped with harsh Miles Bridges reality amid felony charges

The NBA star had an amazing season last year averaging breakout numbers. He put up 20.2 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.8 assist per game. He was also on pace to win the most improved player of the year in fact. His scoring capability and ability to defend the fall at a high level helped the superstar-less Charlotte Hornets clinch play-in berths.

During the off-season, the Hornets fired their Head Coach James Borrego after failing to help the team achieve winning status. The team has been progressing but at a very slow pace. Shortly after firing Borrego, they hired Kenny Atkinson as a replacement in the coaching department.

Within a week’s time, Atkinson decided he did not want to take up the role. Atkinson has formerly a lead assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors and re-joined the posting with the team. This left the Hornets at the mercy of LaMelo Ball and whoever they plan on signing. Miles Bridges was supposed to be the perfect star besides Ball but his future in the league in slim.

An NBA Executive recently highlighted the sticky situation the Hornets are currently in. He stated that the team will be looking forward to acquire top draft picks in the future and use them as trade assets to sign a big name star. He also mentioned briefly that Miles Bridges may not return after what had happened.

“They’re in a tough spot right now. They’ve gotten blown out in the play-in a few times now. They need a star to pair with LaMelo for the long haul. That could have been Bridges but I can’t put what he did aside. If that’s my team, he’s not factored into our plans anymore. I’d probably focus on getting a great pick in this year’s draft. Getting a top talent on a rookie deal is far more appealing than trading away most of your assets for someone like Donovan Mitchell.”
