The Los Angeles Lakers’ 5-game winning streak has unfortunately come to an end after their latest match against the Denver Nuggets. Heading into the game, they were without their star players Anthony Davis, who continues to miss out on all the action following his right foot injury, and LeBron James, who missed the game against Denver because of foot soreness. It was expected that the Lakers would put up a fight, and while they did, they ultimately lost to the Nuggets.

Skip Bayless took the opportunity to once again launch scathing attacks on James. He compared how Michael Jordan played all 82 games even at the age of 39 while James missed the game due to foot soreness. In his tweet, he said, Wait, LeBron isn’t playing tonight at Denver, the best in the West? Ankle injury? Did this happen in practice? No idea. All I know for sure is Michael Jordan played all 82 games NINE TIMES – including all 82 at age 39. The no-doubt GOAT also played 81 one season and 80 another.

The Lakers were led by Russell Westbrook who came off the bench to score 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists thus making it one of his best performances this season. Thomas Bryant scored 17 while Dennis Schroder and Max Christie scored 14 each. Jamal Murray sealed the victory for the Nuggets after scoring 34 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic recorded another triple-double with figures of 14-11-16.

When James’ left ankle started to hurt, his status was first labeled as probable. On Monday morning, it was lowered to questionable, and just before tip-off, it was completely ruled out. He has been bothered by the pain in his left ankle lately, which has kept him out of several games. James has participated in 21 of the last 25 games, but three of those absences were attributed to left ankle pain.

As for Davis, According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers player intends to start the “ramp-up process” for his comeback later this week. There is no set date for Davis’s comeback; the Lakers have stated that he will be out indefinitely due to a right foot ailment; nonetheless, the condition of his foot is still improving.

In the upcoming weeks, he will start doing pool workouts, running on a treadmill with changed gravity, and upping his basketball workouts. Even though Davis won’t be available to the Lakers for a while, Monday’s report is at least a positive step forward.
