In the annals of sports history, few figures are as iconic, legendary, and mythical as the Chicago Bulls Legend, “His Airness.” With his unparalleled athleticism, unrelenting determination, and an aura of invincibility, he became more than just a basketball player; Michael Jordan became a mythological figure in his own right. However, behind the veil of his almost god-like figure, he is known to show some human emotion, as revealed by his son Marcus Jordan.
While speaking on the iHeart radio podcast Spilling Family Secrets, co-hosted by his girlfriend Larsa Pippen, Marcus revealed what his father is “terrified” of. “There’s a bunch of stuff that I feel like people don’t know. One is that he’s terrified of snakes,” said Marcus.
“We were probably like 12 and 14, and we got a bunch of rubber snakes and threw them in my dad’s room on top of his bed. We were grounded. He was running around the house trying to figure out who did it,” Marcus said. “I think he was caught off guard and realised they weren’t real after a while.”
Although the phobia of snakes is extremely common, it takes away from Jordan’s larger-than-life persona. A mental image of “His Airness” running around a room with rubber snakes may seem somewhat comical when compared to his on-court heroics and killer mentality.

Michael Jordan’s honest opinion about his son’s relationship
Michael Jordan publicly disapproves of the relationship between his son Marcus and Larsa Pippen, ex-wife of his Bulls co-star, Scottie Pippen. When asked if Jordan approves of his son’s relationship, he laughed off the question, but when pressed further, Jordan gave a single-word response, “No.”
Jordan is no stranger to cutting off relations with close friends over trivial reasons. Jordan has famously cut ties with long-time friend Charles Barkley over a segment Barkley did on TNT. Although the relationship between Jordan and his son is unknown, considering the nature of Michael Jordan, he might not take kindly to revealing his phobia.
Larsa Pippen, aged 49, has been at the head of many controversies, including an extra-marital affair with critically acclaimed rapper Future. The rapper later revealed that he did so after Scottie refused to give Future an autograph.
Jordan recently sold his stake in the Charlotte Hornets for a whopping $3 billion, bringing his total estimated net worth to around $3.5 billion, making him the wealthiest NBA player in history.
