NBA legend Michael Jordan, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, and American rapper and songwriter, Travis Scott were all in attendance at the NRG Stadium as the Michigan Wolverines defeated the Washington Huskies for their first-ever college football national championship title.
This was the Wolverines’ first national championship title in 26 years, winning 34-13, finishing the college football season undefeated. With the game billed as the number 1 seed versus the number two seed, the stars turned up to witness the epic moment, filling up the stadium suite. Also present was American former professional baseball shortstop, businessman, and baseball executive, Derek Jeter.
Adding to the star-studded suite, the audience at the NRG Stadium also included Desmond Howard, an alumnus of the Michigan Wolverines and former football wide receiver and return specialist in the NFL. Also present was John William Harbaugh, the head coach for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. Notably, he is the elder brother of Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of the victorious Michigan Wolverines.
With both teams going into the game with an unblemished 14-0 record, there was only going to be one winner. Speaking after the win, head coach Harbaugh said:
It's just such a glorious feeling. I really don't have any more words than that.
Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy also had a chat with Rowe during which he said:
I just love my teammates so much. I love my coaches. It's bittersweet because it's going to be the last time that we get to play together. I love those guys so much; it's just such a special group and [there's] no better way to end it.
