“He’s going to bust his a**” Mike Miller weighs in on Kevin Durant’s trade request from the Brooklyn Nets

“He’s going to bust his a**” Mike Miller weighs in on Kevin Durant’s trade request from the Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets have a lot on their plate, as they had Kyrie Irving opting in for 1 more season while Kevin Durant requested a trade away afterwards. So the current situation between the franchise and Kevin Durant is not the ’most’ ideal. Tough Durant had asked for a trade and handed them his choices, the Nets are finding it difficult to move their superstar. The 33-year-old megastar has four years remaining on his contract and the Nets hold all the leverage. But their valuation for their franchise player is what makes it difficult for other teams to make any advancements. The trade request by KD was heavily criticized as the “safest route to a championship”, but former guard Mike Miller supports the former finals MVP for his professionalism.

On SiriusXM NBA Radio, former NBA player Mike Miller spoke about Kevin. Miller said KD only focuses on one thing and that is playing basketball. Miller believes that even if Durant is part of the Nets at the start of training camp, he will show up and play his best, indicating his love for the game.

Mike Miller heaps praise on Kevin Durant for his devotion to the game.

Kevin Durant is through professional athlete and his accomplishments do indicate the same. He is a 4-time scoring champion and member of the rare 50-40-90 group member, which is not feasible without hard work, a professional approach to the game, and a love for the sport.

Mike Miller highlighted the same, “KD likes to hoop, I know KD. KD loves to hoop, and will always hoop. If they don’t make a trade in the next month, two months, he’s going to show up, be a professional, and do his job.”

He added“I guarantee you if Sean Marks and Kevin Durant can’t come to an agreement or another team cant come to an agreement, he’s going to show up at training camp, he’s going to bust his a**, he’s going to do everything he needs to do, he’s going to be a professional about it, he’ll win many games for Brooklyn Nets until there is or isn’t a trade.”

Durant trade might be complicated, but 2-time NBA Champion Mike Miller looks certain about KD’s devotion. Interestingly 42-year-old Mike had experience playing against Slim Reaper during his playing career.

Kevin Durant was the 2nd overall pick in the 2007 draft. Since then his gameplay and sharp shooting attracted many compliments. Young Durant and Oklahoma City Thunders made it to NBA Finals in 2012 for the 1st time, but couldn’t win over the powerhouse Miami Heat. In the following seasons, 12-time All-star Durant did manage to win many personal accolades, but couldn’t get his hands on the NBA trophy.

He moved to Golden State Warriors in 2016, which was also heavily condemned by many analysts, but building on his own capabilities, he won back-to-back championships and won the NBA Finals MVP award on both occasions. He did try to repeat the magic for the Brooklyn Nets, but lack of support failed him – thus the trade request was made.

In recent trade rumors though the Brooklyn Nets hold all the leverage because of the four years on KD’s contract. The two-time champion signed a four-year contract extension with the Nets last year worth $190 million, and we will have to wait to watch how it unfolds in the coming days.
