“You are cheap and a lousy owner” Mike North takes hilarious jab at Michael Jordan while narrating a story about his 35-years and older basketball camp
Michael Jordan
Being one of the richest sports athletes the world has ever seen, Michael Jordan seems to have edged over all other modern-day athletes while revealing his massive net worth of over $2 Billion in 2022. From business ventures, to massive investments, to large stakes in huge brands, MJ has done it all and is currently working his way up even in the 21st century. On the same note, Mike North revealed an interesting story about MJ’s basketball camp.
So, this particular basketball camp was held for 35 years and older and was organized by Michael Jordan himself. Talking about some interesting facts, Mike North took a hilarious jab at the Chicago bulls legend on the latest episode of the Barstool Chicago podcast. Although North did go out to praise Michael Jordan and his impact, but take a look for yourself upon the hilarious story.
Why did Mike North call Michael Jordan cheap?
North said, “I was there during the Michael Jordan reign and that was great. Jordan was unbelievable. He’s the most unbelievable person I’ve ever met.”
Taking a subtle shot at Jordan for his frugality and tenure as the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, he said, “I went to his camp for three days in Las Vegas, 35 and over. Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) was our coach. He picked all Chicago guys. He gets the roster, and there was like 20 Chicago guys there. I promoted it on the radio. Jordan wouldn’t give me a dime a deal. So yes, you are cheap, but that’s beside the point, Mike. And you’re a lousy owner.”
Michael Jordan had an insane habit of gambling and playing cards on the plane while travelling. Similar was revealed by Mike North as well. That being said, Jordan and his elite portfolio needs no introduction to anyone, perhaps modern-day players could take a note or two.
Having owned Hornets since 2010, it will be interesting to see how Michael Jordan takes the necessary steps for the team to build their team around LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges in the upcoming 2022-23 season. Will we witness their unexpected rise? Or will they suffer and struggle once again? Remains to be seen.
