Millionaire rapper Nelly shared an instance of how NBA legend Michael Johnson reacted to seeing him in an Adidas tracksuit and mocked him for not wearing the iconic Air Jordan sneakers. Nelly talked about it when he appeared in an episode of the ‘Complex Sneakers.’ Michael Jordan and the famous shoe brand Nike, in partnership together, made millions of fortunes manufacturing customized shoes over the past 40 years.
Rapper Nelly said, “I had on an Adidas tracksuit one time, and I came in, had my shell toes on with my suit, and he was like ‘Ah, ah, don’t you come past that doorway’ so he’s like ‘Man, get out of here.” Adidas are direct rivals of Nike. On the other hand, Michael Jordan shares a history of disappointment with Adidas; hence, one can understand his hatred towards the shoe brand.
Adidas refused to offer Michael Jordan a shoe deal because they were not interested in signing basketball players. Hence, Jordan moved towards another giant shoe brand, Nike, which made him a comprehensive offer and offered all assurance to him. This offer skyrocketed Nike’s fortunes along with MJ’s. It would have been a different scenario for them if Adidas had made an offer to MJ.
Michael Jordan almost bought Air Jordans for hundreds of kids

The Phoenix Suns star player challenged the NBA legend in front of the hundreds of children present there. The challenge was to give each of them a pair of Air Jordan sneakers if the former Chicago Bulls player missed three shots. To no one’s surprise, Michael Jordan did not miss any of them. He even shot alongside CP3 with closed eyes. It looked like the old fierce Bulls player hadn’t lost anything even after retirement. He shot 3-pt after 3-pt, and the kids were enthusiastic and excited to see one of their childhood heroes live. Sadly, the kids left without the gift as MJ managed to pass the challenge.
