“More dominant than me? Nah!” Shaq impudently CLAIMS no one in the current NBA roster is as ‘commanding’ as him
Shaquille O'Neal believes that no current player is as dominating as him because he made the NBA change it's rules like no big man has done ever since
Shaquille O'Neal
Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most dominating players ever played in the NBA, and he feels no modern-day player is as dominant as he was. Shaq appeared on the Players Choice podcast, saying, “To me, dominance is when people have to change the rules. I love all the players they got now, but I wouldn’t use the word dominant.” Shaq famously made the NBA allow zone defense to stop Shaquille O’Neal from dominating the paint so much in the 1990s.
“I get kinda upset when you guys throw the word dominant around. I did what I did with three or four people on me every night,” said Shaq. The Big Diesel was known for his unstoppable post-game and dunking on everyone who tried to guard him. Shaq famously dunked over 4 of the 5 New Jersey Nets players in the early 200s which is a testament to how un-guardable he was
“Dominant to me is ‘we got three guys on this guy, and we can’t stop him’…’Oh, he can’t shoot free throws? We gonna let the world know before the game starts we gonna foul him‘,” said Shaq. The 4x NBA Champion was a historically bad free throw shooter as ‘Hack-a-Shaq.’ O’Neal feels dominance in his era was at a different level but still appreciates modern big men like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Shaquille O’Neal is back after a hip surgery which scared NBA fans all over the world
Shaquille O’Neal posted a photo on Twitter while lying in a hospital gown, sending social media into a frenzy. The ‘Inside the NBA’ analyst and 15-time All-Star will leave the broadcast booth while he recovers. On Sunday, he sent out a message of support for his fellow sportscasters Ernie Johnson and Candace Parker. “I’m always watching, miss y’all’, said Shaq on Twitter while posting the picture of him in the hospital. O’Neal received love from the entire NBA community over his recovery process following the tweet.
The 51-year-old revealed later that he was getting hip surgery and had nothing to worry about. The 2001 NBA MVP joked on Instagram that he was getting a ‘BBL,’ i.e., ‘Brazilian butt lift’ to increase the size of his rear. “To all the people who are worried and concerned. First off , let me say thank you. And lastly, no need to worry, I just had to get some BBL WORK AKA #hipreplacement. Thanks and love you all. but no need to worry and yes i’m fine.” Shaq said on Twitter.
