Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant have made a name for themselves being villains of the league. The Memphis Grizzlies stars have been trending on social media over the past couple of months for their controversial actions and statements. Be it Brooks’ trash talk against some of the NBA’s most beloved stars or Morant’s flashing a gun on his social media account, fans and analysts have been critical of the duo. Morant and Brooks’ actions have led to them becoming the most hated players in the league in the past 60 days.

Betonline.ag compiled a list of the Top 20 players who have irked the fans the most on social media. This survey was based on negative tweets about players in the last 60 days. To no one’s surprise, Morant and Brooks were the ones occupying the top two positions. LeBron James, Draymond Green, and Ben Simmons followed occupying the third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.

Other names on the list included the likes of Kyrie Irving, Patrick Beverley, Devin Booker, and James Harden. Some of these names came as a surprise to fans considering various factors. For example, Ben Simmons being in the fifth position despite being sidelined for months is surprising. At the same time, Kawhi Leonard, one of the NBA’s favorites being on the list was equally astonishing.

Though, Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant being on a list was a bit too obvious, considering their recent past. Controversies involving both of these players erupted in the most heated discussions and slander on Twitter and elsewhere. These went on for months and didn’t stop at just one issue.

In the past few months, Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant have made headlines for the wrong reasons. Morant, a superstar in the making, was involved in a gun controversy. The player was seen flashing a gun off on his Instagram Live while busting rhymes and moves at a nightclub.

Prior to that, Morant was accused of threatening a shoe store employee after an altercation with the Grizzlies star’s mother. He was also accused of threatening the security guard of the mall in which the shoe store was located. Along with this incident, Morant has been accused of beating a 17-year-old boy at a pickup basketball game with his friends. While there are several other incidents and accusations, Morant has since pledged a change in behavior.

Dillon Brooks’ outspoken comments also stirred up controversy. Being a key player on the Memphis Grizzlies team, his remarks gained attention on various online platforms. Among his most notable statements is his criticism of LeBron James, undermining his achievements, and labeling him as “old.” These are just a few examples of the many provocative statements he has made throughout the season.

It’ll be interesting to see how Brooks’ career plays out, considering his time with the Grizzlies has come to an and he’s currently a free agent. As for Morant, the player seems to be making changes in his life, which is a good sign.
