“How can you remove Wilt from NBA Top 4? Mychal Thompson rips Stephen A Smith for wild Wilt Chamberlain disrespect
Mychal Thompson, Klay Thompson and Stephen A. Smith
Stephen A Smith is known for his heated opinions, and the outspoken sports television host is renowned for irritating some heads. Smith recently discussed Stephen Curry’s chances of being an all-time top 10 player in NBA history if he wins his fourth championship, and he surprised many by saying that Steph will beat Wilt Chamberlain into the top 10.
Despite Wilt’s supremacy throughout his playing days, Smith replaced him, underscoring the fact that he’ll always be recognised as Bill Russell’s reserve. Mychal Thompson, Klay Thompson’s father, slammed Stephen A Smith on Twitter when he stated that he would replace Wilt Chamberlain in his top 10 all-time list with Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry with a historical performance to attain his fourth ring.
Stephen Curry lead the Warriors to a 103-90 series-clinching Game 6 victory, with 34 points on only 21 shots, seven rebounds, and seven assists, the cherry on top of a brilliant performance that earned him his first Finals MVP and put him back on top of the NBA. Curry’s total Finals stats are incredible with 31.2 points per game, six rebounds per game, five assists per game, 43.8 percent shooting from three-point range, and 48.2 percent shooting overall. Curry didn’t require this victory as his legacy has been established for a long time. However, the triumph and the fact that he was named Finals MVP for the first time adds to the excitement around his place in NBA history.

Stephen A Smith’s take and Mychal Thompson’s response
Stephen A Smith argued that because Bill Russell won 11 titles to Wilt’s two, the difference must be counted against him, but as Mychal Thompson points out, he still has to be in the top ten. No one in the league could match Russell’s Celtics, who were stocked with Hall-of-Famers. Most of them might argue that Curry is better than Wilt in terms of all-time rankings, but pushing him out of the top 10 is a little much.
Despite Curry’s undeniable excellence, Chamberlain is the only player in NBA history to score 100 points in a single game and to average between 40 and 50 points every season. He’s also the first player to have have a season with at least 30 points and 20 rebounds. Mychal Thompson was plainly unhappy that Wilt Chamberlain was humiliated and unfairly treated that way after the Warriors won the NBA championship. Klay Thompson’s father, who grew up watching Chamberlain, believes the NBA legend should always be in the Top 4 of any all-time ranking of the game’s greatest players.
