“We know why” Naz Reid refuses to expose weak links that cripple Timberwolves’ success

Austin Rivers made the observation before the victory over Denver that there is still more than half the season to turn things around. By defeating the top club in the conference, the Timberwolves unquestionably made progress toward bettering their circumstance.

However, the situation this group is in is still difficult, and issues are still present. Naz Reid made some somewhat unsettling remarks about the team following the team’s defeat to the Pistons.

After the loss to Detroit, Reid was questioned about whether it was a surprise why the Timberwolves are underachieving. He responded “Not really. We know. We know. We know why. And you know, I’m gonna kind of keep that in-house. But we know why.”

He is the first and quickest to mention when the Timberwolves’ troubles this season are questioned. The fact that Minnesota relocated so many key players off last year’s team and put all their faith in Gobert means that much of their inadequacies will fall on his shoulders in the eyes of the crowd, whether they should or not. Injuries and other issues have undoubtedly also been at play here.

“Very, very proud of our guys after the weekend,” Finch said. “Obviously, we desperately needed a win here, regardless of who we had playing or who we were playing. It was a total team win. Everybody who came in contributed, and executed the game plan to a high level. Played with toughness, and played together. It was really fun to watch.”
