So far, the Boston Celtics’ frontrunners, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, have been a great pair. Both players have established themselves as offensive threats for the greens. Brown was taken a year before Tatum, but the latter started scratching the skin of his sky-high potential straight away. Since 2017, the Celtics have gradually grown as a franchise, spearheaded by their two studs.

Despite being drafted a year apart, Brown and Tatum were both selected by Boston with the third overall pick. Jason Tatum was an exceptional talent coming out of Duke who happened to land in Boston, which was already a major contender in the East. The Celtics have appeared in three Conference Finals and one NBA Finals since the duo’s ascent.

Both the players contribute well, given the offensive bag they possess. Till now, Brown was believed to be a level or two below Tatum. However, since the past two seasons, Brown has seemingly improved, closing in on Tatum’s level and establishing himself as a superstar. Impressed by the sheer improvement that Brown has displayed, NBA announcer and analyst Doris Burke believes he has the potential to be almost as good as his Celtics comrade.

“I think Jaylen Brown has closed the gap a little bit in terms of the difference level between he and Jayson Tatum. Now, Jaylen Brown still has to take a step in terms of his ability to not turn the ball over.”, said Burke.

Jaylen Brown has shown better efficiency from beyond the arc, hitting shots when it matters the most. Being as skillful of a player, Brown will have to take as much responsibility, with the Boston Celtics being down 3-2 versus the Philadelphia 76ers

The Celtics lost Game 5 at home, as they now trail versus the Sixers. In the last six postseasons, the Celtics have managed to appear in the Conference Finals four times. And while on their way to win the East, Boston has been challenged to play seven games in any of the series prior. With Game 6 to be held in Philly, Boston will have to give it all to keep their title run hopes alive.

Philadelphia, on the other hand, has been through desperate attempts in the past years to win the East, but to no avail. Boston seems pretty strong this year, as a trip to the Finals might result in a championship. Brown and Tatum will look to lead the team past the new MVP’s squad on Thursday.
