Giannis Antetokounmpo gets compared to Shaquille O’Neal
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to their first championship since 1971, capping off one of the finest postseason performances in recent memory. Giannis was amazing during the playoffs, averaging 30.2 PPG and 12.8 RPG and establishing himself as the best player in the world. The Greek Freak was so excellent that Shaquille O’Neal ultimately gave up his moniker, “Superman,” to another player. Giannis was Superman this season, finishing off the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 with a 50-point explosion. In terms of season statistics and overall domination, Giannis has the upper hand, but it is mainly due to the period in which he is playing.
Today’s game has far more possessions, and the absence of defensive resistance allows a player of Antetokounmpo’s size to produce incredible numbers. But there’s no denying Giannis is a greater playmaker and athlete than O’Neal, despite the fact that Shaq was a much larger and stronger old-school centre. In Shaq’s day, his stats were phenomenal, and he was the most dominant player in the NBA, so there isn’t much to choose between the two. But this opinion of Kirk didn’t seem to go down well with the fans who trolled Kirk for his opinion and said it was revolting to even get a thought like that in your head and was very disrespectful for the hall of famer. As far as the EuroBasket is concerned all NBA stars from Europe are absolutely killing it at the competition Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece with 41 points in 27 minutes.
Luka Doncic led Slovenia with 36 points, and two-time reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic led Serbia with 29 points — three of the world’s top players all guiding their countries to massive group-stage victory at the European championships. Each team has one more group-stage game to play before travelling to Berlin, as Greece, Slovenia, and Serbia have all clinched positions in the 16-team knockout phase, which begins Saturday.
