“What they had was ridiculous” NBA Analyst picks 2017 Golden State Warriors as his best-ever team
2017 Golden State Warriors
2017 Golden State Warriors are undoubtedly one of the greatest teams to be ever formed. It’s in the exact same list of elite teams like the 1996 Chicago Bulls and 1986 Boston Celtics. But the Dubs team is an exception as it outshines every other team in the conversation and got themselves a lot of stories and controversies to live with. The 2017 Golden State Warriors had Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and several other stars. Their roster was full of fire and they dominated every other team in the league throughout the regular season and then went on to claim the NBA Title against LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers in the post season.
The 2017 Golden State Warriors were really a nightmare for the league. As it wasn’t just possible for any team’s defense to stop their godlike offensive runs. As they had Stephen Curry as the chef who was cooking and he was backed up by Game 6 Klay Thompson who was draining threes. Further, they had Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala who were filling in every left spot on the system for a perfect scoring run to be made. But it just doesn’t ends there as they also had the godly seven-footer, Kevin Durant who was able to pull up from anywhere anytime and on any one. Those were the starters for the 2017 Golden State Warriors so even if you weren’t a fan back in the days, the above mentioned names are enough for you to know how great and dominating team that was.
When comparing the 2017 Golden State Warriors with any other great team in the league one just can’t lie. And, that’s exactly what Bill Simmons did. He had to be honest and pick up the real one above his all-time favorite team. Obviously, he did that out of pure respect and facts but watching a guy like him choose the Dubs over his favorite team is enough to understand how great that roster under Steve Kerr’s system was. But unfortunately, Kevin Durant had to bounce off to prove himself by becoming a bus driver.
Bill Simmons picks 2017 Golden State Warriors over 1986 Boston Celtics
Bill Simmons on his podcast, “Bill Simmons Podcast” discussing the best ever team in league’s history quoted: “I still think that that’s the best team I have ever seen. You know my heart wants to say it’s 86 Celtics but I just think that 17 Warriors team just with the inside outside game they had was ridiculous.” Bill Simmons has been a regular name in the NBA headlines for quite a while now for his fiery takes and this one just adds on to that list. But surely many feelings around the globe were hurt especially for the fans of Lakers, Celtics and Bulls when he announced his best team ever.
