“Zach LaVine for AD” NBA executive believes Anthony Davis can soon be shipped to the Bulls

Anthony Davis was a major contributor to the Lakers championship back in 2020, AD has built a legacy that outshines most players. But with LeBron and the Lakers looking for another title run, the All-Star could be on his way to Chicago in exchange for Zach Lavine. Sean Deveney from Heavy.com reports that there is interest in Anthony Davis from various teams in the organisation. Sean Deveney spoke to an executive in the Western Conference who believes that if the Lakers are ready to part with Davis, they might just provide Zach Lavine in return.
The Executive speaking to Sean Deveney said, “The main way it would happen if it was going to happen was to get Davis somewhere he wants to go, and the main place he’d want to go is Chicago, where he’s from, Now, some guys do not want to play in their hometown but I think AD would welcome that, he spoke on that before. Doesn’t mean it would happen, they have not gone out and tried to trade him, but there could be something simple like Zach LaVine for AD, you get a pair of guys going to places they really want to be. It would have to wait until January but that would be the deal that makes the most sense if AD is going to change teams.”
Will A Trade Between The Lakers and The Bulls Happen?
Two-time All-Star Zach Lavine is a great player and just might be what the Lakers are missing in the guard position. In addition, Lavine has formerly expressed that he would like to play for L.A. But with the new deal that keeps him as a Bull till 2027, the only other way would be for a trade to happen which seems very impractical.
While Anthony Davis’s hometown is Chicago, he wanted to be a laker and with both Lavine and Davis being from the same agency, Klutch Sports, it might be risky for Rich Paul if a trade was to fail. And the fact that a player of Lavine’s calibre cannot seem to match up with Anthony Davis, makes a trade seem highly implausible.
The Lakers had a disappointing run last season where they did not even make the playoffs and with all eyes on LeBron going into his 20th season signing a massive contract extension, The Lakers will need to build a strong team for the upcoming seasons, While the Lakers are definitely kicking Westbrook out, A potential Davis trade might be explored in case of another dismal season and with Davis being an injury prone player. Rob Pelinka might need to keep the future of the Lakers in mind going forward.
