“He literally carried the next play” – NBA Fans go berserk as Luka Doncic trolls the life out of a ref for calling a carrying violation

There has been a substantial increase in the carrying foul on the plays this season. The refs have been called out by several players over the carry calls. Earlier this season, Jordan Poole was called for multiple carry calls in a single game. Point God Chris Paul was called for carry in the late game. Just when things seemed to settle down the Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was recently called for a carry foul against the Miami Heat.
With 55 seconds left on the clock in the third quarter, Mavs were leading by 65-88 against the Heat. Luka dribbled left from the top of the key and as he tried to cross Victor Oladipo with an over-the-ball hand dribble, he was called for a carry foul. Doncic was in disbelief after the call and continued to complain to the referee. Udonis Haslem, who was sitting on the bench hand signaled Luka to go back.
However, the tables turned when the Slovenian player did the officials dirty on the next play. Doncic again found himself defended by Victor in the next play, who started on-ball defense from the half court. Doncic took a step back and made a long 3-point shot over the defender. What the Mavs star did next was a boss move. He made the three-point as if it was easy and then looked at the referee and signaled him that it was not a carry. Even though he carried the ball again.

Fans went ballistic when they saw Doncic being the baddest man on the court and trolling the officials openly after making a long three-point shot as if it was nothing while carrying the ball. “My favorite part is Udonis in the background looking like an old man telling Luka to get off his lawn.” Another fan wrote, “Bad sportsmanship LOL, trade him to the Lakers for this bad behavior.” Here are some reactions from the fans on Twitter.
Cutting dribbles are considered controversial by many coaches and players. However, in the last few years, such dribbles have been largely considered legal. Perhaps, the league should give more clarification on the carry violations made by the players. Doncic scored 34 points for Dallas in 38 minutes. He made 12 of 24 shots from the field and 5 of 8 shots from the three-point line. The 3 x NBA All-Star also grabbed 12 rebounds and 7 assists for his team. He has been one of the front runners this season along with Jayson Tatum and Nikola Jokic.
