Miami Heat dominated in Game 3 against the Milwaukee Bucks, extending their lead to 2-1 in the series. Heat cruised past the Bucks with a 22-point margin in the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo as Jimmy Butler dominated. Butler led the way for the team with 30 points, four assists, and five rebounds. The Heat’s game was haunted by injuries as two players left the court mid-game. Jimmy Butler faced a hard fall in the third quarter and had to go back to the locker room. Victor Oladipo, on the other hand, suffered a terrible injury to his knee and had to be carried out.
Oladipo got hurt in the fourth quarter of the game with right under four minutes remaining. He charged towards the rim, attempting a lay-up. Right before he reached the rim, he had small contact with Bobby Portis, which threw him off balance. Oladipo then fell down on the court at a really high speed, having a strong impact against the floor. He immediately held his knee, signaling an injury.
Heat fans and teammates lost their smiles as Oladipo had to be carried out of the court. Round one of the playoffs has been marred by injuries to the stars of all the teams. Be it Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, JA Morant etc.
Teams have had to face the wrath of injuries with their star players’ absence directly affecting games. Heat will hope for the immediate recovery of Butler and Oladipo, while the Bucks will hope for the same for Antetokounmpo.
Fans react to Victor Oladipo’s terrible injury
The Milwaukee Bucks aimed to carry their momentum from a Game 2 win against the Miami Heat on the road to the Kaseya Center, but their hopes were quickly dashed as the Heat dominated with a 66-point first half, shooting 63% from beyond the arc, and securing a 121-99 victory to take a 2-1 series lead over the Bucks.
Jimmy Butler was the star of the game, scoring 30 points, four assists, and five rebounds. Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry followed with 20 and 15 points each, respectively. Butler scored 17 of the Heat’s 29 first-quarter points, going 3 for 3 from beyond the arc and 3 for 5 from two, using the entire court to his advantage.
Khris Middleton led the way for Milwaukee Bucks with 23 points, six assists, and 5 rebounds. Jrue Holiday followed with 19 points, three assists, and five rebounds in an inadequate effort to get the win. Although top-flight individual defender Holiday matched up against Butler, the impact of Butler’s scoring was nearly as significant as the totals. Let us now look at the fan reactions to Oladipo’s injury.
Fans are now eagerly waiting for Oladipo to get back on the court and help the Heat get victories. Even though this round of the playoffs has been haunted by injuries, we only hope for things to get better.
