“Refs chose a winner beforehand” NBA Fans in disgust as referee awards FTs to Gary Payton II for tripping himself

Gary Payton II tripped himself in Game 5 of NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and made it to the headlines as the controversial officiating was back. He was gifted two free throws by the officials for a no-contact play and that’s not how it is supposed to be. The whole season the fans have been critical of the officials as every time one of either team was left unhappy as they feel cheated and now with such calls during the Finals many believe the lines are crossed. The Celtics fans are also hating on Gary Payton II for not being honest and riding with the free calls.

The series has already been very controversial in terms of officiating the most recent one which got into the headlines was Draymond Green walking away and not getting ejected in Game 2 and Game 3 of the Finals. But the Gary Payton II play where he trips himself is also very hilarious as the commentators caught it on the replay moments after the call but nothing could have been changed. Many believe the refs had it all planned and executed it perfectly as the Dubs won and there’s a good chance of Game 7 now. But nothing of that can be confirmed as all these are claims of fans who feel they and their team got robbed by the refs.

The Warriors were struggling with the offense for a while in the game as Stephen Curry wasn’t good with shooting the ball from downtown. But soon everything was under control as Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole and Draymond Green stepped up to get the job done. The Warriors won the game and now lead by 3-2 (GSW won 104-94) one win away from their fourth title in the last eight seasons.

Gary Payton II also played an important role coming off the bench as he was a difference-maker and helped the team on the offensive end while locking the rival stars up. He dropped 15 points and had 5 rebounds and is now all over the internet for tripping himself in a wide-open play to lay the ball as he got awarded with free-throws.

Fans criticize NBA referees for gifting free FTs to Gary Payton II

In the first quarter with two minutes and fifty-five seconds remaining Gary Payton II was down on the ground as he tripped himself. But the refs gave a foul call on Grant Williams who was never involved in his fall and the Warriors’ young gun got himself two free free-throws. This call has the Boston Celtics fans heated up as they criticize the league for rigged officiating and blame the loss on the refs.
