Although Joel Embiid was great in the 2021-22 season yet Philadelphia 76ers had a mixed 2022 season. They managed to deal Ben Simmons for James Harden before the playoffs, but couldn’t capitalize on the former MVP’s presence on the floor. However, marquee player Joel Embiid proved his worth in all that mess. He remained a focal point of the Sixers’ offense and defense and even though they lost in the conference Semis, they proved strong enough for upcoming seasons. Joel in particular maintained his good run from last season and was even in contention for the MVP race for 2nd season in a row. As the Sixers reload for a legitimate run at a title next season, Embiid is feeling good – about his team, and about life.
In the off-season, he was hanging in the Hamptons with every single famous person who’s ever existed, including teammate James Harden and new teammate P.J. Tucker. It looked like quite a scene. But perhaps he bettered the joy, this past weekend when Embiid went viral for dancing the Hora and getting lifted up in a chair at a wedding.

Philadelphia megastar Joel Embiid deserves to have this much fun in the summer. His 2021-22 season was hellacious. He had to deal with never-ending questions about the Ben Simmons trade, to carry the team on his back while shorthanded. That wasn’t brutal enough that 5-time All-Star had to make an early return after getting painfully injured during the postseason, and played through it to carry the team to the conference finals.
But after that came off-season and we got to see a different Jo. He recovered from the injury and spend quality time with his teammates. James Harden showed positive signs by accepting a pay cut and remained with the Philadelphia team to challenge for the title. Embiid also got French citizenship and could partner with fellow NBA Star Rudy Gobert for Les Bleus.
Then he attended his friend’s wedding and was seen dancing with other guests at the reception. It was great to see the big man smiling, laughing, and living life as he recharges the batteries for the next season.
