JD Davison is really proving the Boston Celtics right out there. As they drafted him at the 53rd spot in the 2022 NBA draft and did the right job. His performance last night against the Memphis Grizzlies at Las Vegas in NBA Summer League 2K23 has him crowned as the Steal of the Draft. He showed out to the world how good and great he can be if developed properly and trusted with the ball with some fair amount of opportunities. JD Davison is already in the headlines and hasn’t even played in the real league yet. But coming off from a good college career where he chose the league over spending some more years there. He already has enough potential to clown his rivals and the Grizzlies’ summer league roster just got a sip of it, so getting into the draft was a good decision.
In the game, JD Davison showcased his great playmaking skills, shooting heroics and defensive greats as he even locked up the rival young guns. Most of his skillset which was discovered yesterday was pretty unexpected but he has a deep bag and also has the potential to be ‘him’. As Fans out there are already comparing him with league’s Most Improved Player (2022) and All-Star JA Morant. JD Davison has the trust of the Celtics and they are experimenting around him as he’s just like the guys they want to build around and be a championship team after they got a trip to NBA Finals last season with a young roster and all of it was built not bought.
JD Davison can be a great difference maker coming off the bench for the Celtics as their backup guard. Who is capable of shooting, attacking the rim, playmaking, assisting and even bringing the ball up. He even showcased his great eyes many times yesterday as he used his vision to be a pass-first guy but also got the job done on the scoring end as he made some cold-blooded jumpers with his heated-up hands.

The game was an easy dub for the Celtics (won the game at 108-91) as they won all the four quarters and controlled the game throughout. But most of the credits for the win goes to JD who was working out there and has successfully left a mark on both the ends. In the game, JD dropped 28 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. He got himself many highlights and fans are loving those as they believe he’s the missing piece the Celtics needed coming off the bench.
Fans are also rooting for him to walk away with every award the league has. As they think soon JD Davison will be a star in the league and is going to have a hot and spicy season ahead as he already is capable of taking up the role of a solid role player.
