“WTF are they even tryna do?” NBA Fans react to New York Knicks $300 million commitment for their unloved Big Three

New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have been in a rebuilding phase for a long period of time, with alot of their decisions over the years failing to bear fruit. And this off-season the Knicks have been doing their best to trade for Donovan Mitchell but with the recent contract extension of RJ Barrett, certain things have come to light that does not please the fans regarding the contrast of Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.

With the Knicks extending RJ Barrett’s contract to 4 years at $120 million, the trade for Donovan Mitchell has become harder even though they are still gunning for the Jazz point guard and think they can still pull it off. It brings out the fact that the Knicks look at Barrett as someone they can keep and someone who is worth the hefty price they offered.
And with Julius Randle’s contract also at $117 million plus Jalen Rose getting a 4 year contract for $104 contract last july. The Knicks have invested around $340 million on these three players. While the three have at one point come up in trade negotiations, the contracts do show that the Knicks are somehow looking to this trio as a core.
Knicks Fans Not Happy

While fans of the Knicks are some of the most loyal, they are at the same time very critical and have been vocal about the decisions the organization has made. And even now, the contracts for these three displeases the fans, cursing their franchise online. Here are some reactions from Knicks fans about the money invested in this unloved Big-3.
The Knicks front office has been very unpredictable and could pull off something that shocks everyone. So as a trade for Donovan Mitchell is still very much on the table, believing either Randle or Rose or even RJ Barrett can be traded is an option that one cannot disregard. With the Knicks having a decent season, if all goes right and they get Mitchell while still keeping these three and maybe somehow sign free agent Carmelo Anthony, New York could be a legit contender in the Eastern Conference.
