“Dude obviously smoking crazy amounts of weed” – NBA fans ROAST John Collins for claiming Trae Young better than Steph Curry at multiple skills
John Collins drew a barrage of flak for his recent comments about Curry and Young.
Ever since Stephen Curry entered the NBA, he has revolutionized the way the game is played. His playmaking abilities and shooting mastery has been an escape from reality for NBA fans. It is no argument that the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter has had a massive influence. He has managed to win four NBA championships in the last eight years. Curry also leads the list for most made three-pointers in the history of the game. Going into the Playoffs, he would look forward to defending his title with the Warriors.
While Steph Curry has been around the league for quite some time, he has quite a few younger players in the league who mirror his gameplay. One of them is the guard from Atlanta Hawks, Trae Young. Young has been one of the prospects of the new era of the NBA. His skill to run the offense and score buckets is what stands out.
While many would say that there is no equivalent to Stephen Curry’s greatness in the league today, Hawks forward John Collins says otherwise. Talking to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, Collins opened up on his views on the comparisons between Curry and Young.
“Now, Trae has definitely pushed himself into his own category. I can definitely say for sure that he’s a way better playmaker than Steph and he’s a better isolation scorer, right? But obviously, there’s different things that he does better and Steph does better. I just feel like, at this point in the league, they do have similarities in the oohs and the ahhs when they hit a crazy 3, cross somebody up. I can say that they are similar”

How are fans reacting to John Collins’ statement about Trae Young and Steph Curry?
Unsurprisingly, fans on Twitter have opened the floodgates with their taunts. While some have tried to be subtle with their comments, some haven’t been very kind. It can be said that these reactions were almost predictable based on the Hawks forward’s comments. While it is absolutely fair for Collins to have his opinion, Twitter has a reputation for barraging all those who say something slightly ‘bizarre.’
The Hawks are set to lock horns with the Boston Celtics in the first round of the Playoffs. The Celtics have proven to be a formidable squad for the past few seasons, and it’ll be a tough ride for their opponents. However, the Hawks have the potential to present a strong challenge to Jayson Tatum and the Celtics.
