Ric Bucher on Golden State Warriors

There are no two-ways in stating that the recently concluded 2021-2022 season was the best one for Golden State Warriors. After missing out on the playoffs for 2 consecutive seasons, the Golden State Warriors not only made it to the postseason but went on to win the ultimate accolade in the end. Stephen Curry also won Finals MVP Award after playing a massive role in lifting their 4th title. With a spate of injuries that decimated their lineup, the Golden State Warriors were considered out of the NBA’s top-tier teams. But they did prove every doubter wrong, and even gave them an earful upon winning the title.

Ric Bucher also emphasized that health plus the Warriors’ incredible depth made their rise almost inevitable. Making his appearance on “The Speak for Yourself” show, Bucher said, “Weren’t the Warriors injured for a couple of years and they fell off and they got healthy and they came all the way back? Why can’t they do that? Steph and Klay and Dray were able to climb the mountain again because of Jordan Poole, because of Andrew Wiggins.”

Bucher went on to detail how the Warriors’ superior depth already has several first-round picks like Kevon Looney, Andrew Wiggins, and Jordan Poole. Newcomers James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody are also very important pieces for the Warriors.

Golden State Warriors are building a dynasty.

There are very few teams who have dominated the league season after season. The early years were dominated by the Celtics, while the Lakers, Bulls, and Miami also had fairly had their control over the years. The recent decade also saw Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors stamping their mark in the history books. Warriors made it to the 6 NBA Finals in the last 8 seasons and won 4 of those series.

The Golden State Warriors found themselves over the Cap space on various occasions, but still managed to rope in talented stars and fitting players at regular intervals. They are nailing team owner Joe Lacob’s vision of creating a win-now squad that can also contend in the future. Unlike some teams of the past, the Warriors are looking to have multiple dependable stars in the team rather than having 2-3 superstars. Still, they have their core star performers intact with the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green doing most of the work for the team.

The Warriors General manager Bob Myers had another underrated signing after losing a few key supporting players. Donte DiVincenzo will be playing for the Bay Area team next season, and also resigned Kevon Looney.

They lost Otto Porter Jr., Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Gary Payton II in free agency, but still, hold on to important players. The Golden State Warriors will also enjoy a revitalized Andrew Wiggins along with Jordan Poole’s further development. They played big roles last season but are expected to deliver more.

Coach Steve Kerr will also have James Wiseman back from the injury list. The former No. 2 pick in 2020 will bring a mesmerizing blend of athleticism, skill, and length to an already stacked lineup.
