Andrew Wiggins
Andrew Wiggins has been away from the Golden State Warriors for a while due to personal reasons. He was ruled out for the season until recent developments indicate he could be available for Game 1 of the playoffs. Warriors insider Kendra Andrews appeared on the 95.7 game Radio show with updates on their post-season plans.
“The Warriors are planning on having Andrew Wiggins for Game 1,” said Kendra in a shocking revelation for fans who expected him to be out for the season. The Golden State Warriors will face the Sacramento Kings in round 1 of the playoffs in what promises to be a high-scoring series. Andrew Wiggins’s defense was crucial for Golden State’s title win last year and would be a massive boost for them in the future.
“If you’re gonna bring Andrew Wiggins back into the fold… what does the lineup look like if you’re going small?” said Kendra Andrews. With Wiggins back, the Golden State will have added height as he is 6 feet 7 inches and can guard anyone. However, with the Warriors playing small ball, it would be interesting to see how they incorporate Wiggins as a 4 or 5 in that system.

The Sacramento Kings are in their first playoff series since 2006 and will have to go up against the defending champions in the first round. The Warriors are heralded favorites, but Draymond Green doesn’t think it is that clear. “Each team is going to present their version of challenges… Just because the Kings historically haven’t been as competitive in the playoffs, we’re not taking the series lightly“, said Draymond Green, as quoted by Kendra Andrews.
The Sacramento Kings will be going in with a home-court advantage and need it against Golden State. Despite their revival at the end of the season, Golden State has been a horrible road team this season. The defending champs went 11-30 on the road this season while having a stellar 33-8 record at home. The Kings will have to use their home-court advantage, as that seems to be the Warrior’s weak point this season.
“If you look at possible matchups in the Western Conference, I don’t think anyone is going to run with the Warriors like the Kings,” said Kendra. The Kings and Warriors are two of the highest-scoring teams this season, and the Kings are amongst the youngest. A young Kings team will be ready to match the fast tempo of Golden State, unlike any playoff opponent they faced last season.
