Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are back in action as the league is back with a new season. And, this year the opening night was on Brittney Griner’s 32nd birthday and she is still not back on the American Soil and is serving her unnecessary and unfair nine long years sentence in Russia.
Many efforts were made to bring her back but unfortunately, none of those worked. And, this isn’t the first time Stephen Curry has tried to help her but unexpectedly he’s getting criticized this time. On the ring night, while addressing the crowd present and the Dub Nation, Stephen Curry took a moment to show his support for Brittney Griner.
As in his speech, Stephen said: “We want to continue to let her name be known and we pray. It’s been 243 days since she’s been wrongfully incarcerated in Russia. We hope that she comes home soon, that everybody’s doing their part to get her home.” He used the opportunity perfectly and mentioned her birthday too.
But this didn’t really age well with Basketball veteran Dan Dakich. As he slammed Stephen Curry for claiming that Brittney Griner has been unlawfully detained in Russia. Dan Dakich hosts the radio show “Don’t @ Me” for OutKick and that’s where he criticized Stephen Curry for throwing out false information. As he quoted: “Stephen Curry telling me she’s unlawfully detained… Don’t tell me she’s unlawfully detained when that’s the laws of Russia!”
We shouldn’t forget that Dan Dakich is one of the very first guys who showed out their support for Brittney Griner right from the start. And, he’s still riding with the same story and wants her back. But him criticizing Stephen Curry is also not wrong and quite sensible as those are the laws of Russia and different countries have different laws as he said in the viral video.
Stephen Curry though did his part and brought back Brittney Griner and her situation into the headlines. And, now it’s time for him and the Warriors to destroy the league again and repeat their championship run as the haters are back and chirping again.

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors can surely repeat their championship run. But the road this time won’t be easy as the western conference is a lot tougher this year compared to the last season. As many stars have returned back to perfect health and shape and want their revenge.
The Warriors this offseason also lost a lot of young talent like Juan Toscano-Anderson, Gary Payton and some others. But they still have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green under the system of Steve Kerr. So counting them out or even doubting them is nothing but foolishness and every other team in the league knows it.
