Draymond Green has had many reasons to be called the bad guy in the NBA. But everything has a balance to it as he also has great value on the Golden State Warriors roster that not everybody is aware of. But recent events have got people wondering if he is really worth keeping around especially if he keeps starting fights within the team.

After the altercation between the 4x NBA Champion and teammate Jordan Poole went viral, several people criticized both individuals and the franchise for handling the situation poorly. Many believed Green’s punishment was very lenient while others claimed the Warriors’ chemistry will be affected thus hindering their potential title contention.

However, former NBA legend Vince Carter compared this to a Shaq and Kobe situation. He told ESPN, “It reminds me of a Lakers team when Kobe and Shaq weren’t vibing in their talk… they didn’t hangout on the court… but guess what? You could not stop them when they got on the court.”

Carter’s point of view basically means despite Draymond Green holding a wave of anger within himself against Poole they are always going to keep that aside to achieve something the two commonly work for. And based on their season opener, the Warriors have everything set right and back on track to procure a back-to-back title.

It does not seem like Draymond Green has any intention of leaving the Warriors due to the altercation. But he may possibly leave if the franchise disagrees with his desire to sign a four-year extension with them. Following this season, he could opt in for a one-year extension that comes along with his current contract or test-free agency.

His fight buddy Jordan Poole will apparently ride with the Dubs for a couple of more seasons after bagging a multi-year deal. His extension is for four years worth $123 million. The Warriors certainly have a great future with him on their roster considering how people have compared him to a young Stephen Curry.
