Bronny James, the famous high school basketball player, has committed to the University of Southern California. Since his early teenage years, Bronny has been under the spotlight, being known as LeBron James‘ son. Later on, Bronny made a name for himself, playing tournaments across the country. Coming out of Sierra Canyon School, Bronny had quite a lot of offers from other Division I colleges.
His decision to commit to USC came on the same day when the Los Angeles Lakers won Game 3 versus the Golden State Warriors. Bronny attended the game, watching his father lead the way for his team. A few years ago, Bronny was seen at Duke University, working out with Zion Williamson. While Duke did not send any offers to Bronny following his senior year in high school, he settled for USC.
Bronny is a four-star recruit and was ranked 19th in ESPN 100. The 18-year-old stands 6’3 and 180 pounds, having ideal features for a guard. As of now, none of the players from USC have been selected for the 2023 NBA draft. The team lost to Michigan State in the first round of the 2023 NCAA tournament. Having Bronny James on the roster might as well help USC get past the first round next year.
Though his father has been one of the dominant players, Bronny is a reliable shooter. His scoring threat from the outside makes it easier for him to create space on the floor. Bronny is also a great transition player as well as a defender, replicating LeBron’s athleticism and speed. Fans on Twitter looked pretty optimistic about Bronny’s time with USC in the future. Being the projected second-round pick for the Lakers, fans around the league would expect him to make his way to be among the top 10 picks.
Fans predict Bronny James will shine for USC
As of now, looking at Bronny James’ performance, he may not end up as a first-round pick. The Lakers are one of the projected teams for Bronny’s selection, as LeBron James’ wish to play with his son in the NBA may come true with both wearing purple and gold. Bronny has a lot of room for improvement, having fans on Twitter commenting with mixed reactions.
The day LeBron will finally play with his son will go down in the history books as it has never been done before. However, it will be interesting to see where Bronny would land by the start of the 2024-25 season.
