Andre Iguodala feels that Paul George is behind Kevin Durant among the most talented players in the NBA. Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns defeated the Los Angeles Clippers last night 123-109, with Paul George currently out injured. KD dropped 25 points in a clinical performance to earn a come-from-behind victory against the Clippers.

Iguodala has his podcast with Evan Turner, where he said – “Paul George is the second most talented player in the NBA… Kevin Durant is the most talented.” Iguodala played with Kevin Durant as part of the Golden State Warriors from 2016-2019 as they made three straight Finals appearances winning two championships, with Kevin Durant winning Finals MVP both times.

Iguodala praised Paul George for his defensive versatility and skillset by saying – “What doesn’t he do great? What can’t he do? Great size; he can pass the ball.” PG has been a top 10 MVP candidate and an 8x NBA All-star with a stacked resume. The Los Angeles Clippers guard has received a lot of criticism for his playoff failures, but Iguodala feels he has no weaknesses in his game.

The Slim Reaper scored 16 of his 25 points in the first half before Devin Booker took over and scored 18 points in the third quarter to steer the game in favor of the Suns. Phoenix was down by as much as 13 points in the 2nd quarter before the Suns turned the tide. Durant shot 53% from the field and missed just one free throw despite not scoring for a long stretch between the third and the fourth quarter.

The Phoenix Suns have given up home-court advantage this time, but with Kevin Durant and Chris Paul’s playoff experience on their side, they will not be worried. Both KD and CP3 have played in the playoff series against Kawhi Leonard and have come out on the winning side. KD beat Kawhi in 2012 en route to the NBA Finals, and CP3 won Kawhi in a 2015 first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs.

Paul George is yet to prove Iguodala’s claims as the second most talented player in the NBA as he has been struggling with an injury this series. PG has been ruled out for most of the first round but has reportedly been rehabbing well and would look to return if the Clippers progress. With Kawhi and PG back, the Clippers will be well-equipped to take on a stacked Western Conference.
