Durant has been receiving many negative comments for his move to Golden State Warriors and later creating his own superteam at Brooklyn Nets. Despite his capabilities and basketball IQ, KD was on target for many. But on point, he has got some support from fans and basketball insiders. That is his open nature and views on certain topics. 11-time All-Star likes to use social media like everyone else, and many fans appreciate that since most of the stars in the NBA like to keep some things private from the world.

But Social media use isn’t the only thing the general public has in common with 2 time NBA Champion Durant. In fact, one author claims that the Nets superstar smokes weed. The said author, Matt Sullivan, appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show to promote his new book – chronicling the Nets’ superteam, and said that Durant “smokes even more weed than you would think.”

KD’s affinity for marijuana is widespread news. In fact, he previously signed a partnership deal with Weedmaps, a tech company that serves the cannabis industry. Durant also served on the advisory board of Canopy Rivers — a marijuana investment and acquisition firm based in Canada.

In a recent interview with David Letterman, the Nets star freely admitted to occasionally smoking weed. Durant admits that – it’s just something that helps him relax. “To me, it clears the distractions out of your brain a little bit,” KD said“Settles you down. It’s like having a glass of wine.”

When Letterman asked whether KD had gone for a smoke on the interview day, the Nets megastar smiled and confessed to actually being high at that exact moment. “I’m actually high right now,” Durant said with a big smile on his face.

Letterman could not help but laugh at KD’s admission. Outspoken Durant does it again, this time in front of a camera rather than using social media, especially for something that he firmly believes in and would like to share with the people. Whether NBA will take any note of this is an altogether separate question but in reality, the League is no longer testing players for marijuana at this point.
