All-Star Games Weekend in Indianapolis will include an LED floor that is fully illuminated by the NBA when the lights go down. Annually, the NBA introduces novelties to the All-Star weekend. This year’s most recent addition is the NBA All-Star LED court. Interaction between spectators and the LED court is possible during timeouts. In addition to replays and stat displays.
It can serve as both the court and a massive TV screen in an arena. The LED court is a product produced by ASB GlassFloor, a German firm. However, the NBA All-Star LED court won’t be utilized for the first time in organized basketball. Last year’s FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup marked the product’s International competitive debut.
There are less than two weeks left until the highly anticipated All-Star weekend, and the interest in the event has reached its peak. At the Gain Bridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the All-Star games are slated to take place from February 16–18. Events like the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest, Slam Dunk Contest, and the inaugural WNBA vs. NBA 3-Point Challenge, which starred Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, are part of the latter.
Since the court will be used, it is safe to assume that both NBPA representative, Ande Iguodala and NBA Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations, Joe Dumars were comfortable with the innovation after testing it out for safety and feel.
