“He is not dictating terms to me” Nick Wright believes he and Kevin Durant underestimated the courage of Joe Tsai
Nick Wright, Kevin Durant and Joe Tsai
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has been in the news over his trade request for a long time. He even had met owner Joe Tsai recently and put forth what he demanded. He wanted a change in the Net’s management if they wanted him to continue for the Nets. But it seems that he couldn’t get what he wanted from this meeting and instead agreed to continue playing for Brooklyn Nets in the future. Rumors that Kevin underestimated the Brooklyn Nets owner have been going around, and even analyst Nick Wright commented on it on his new show.
In the show “What’s Wright? With Nick Wright” Nick Wright mentioned, “Kevin Durant handled this incredibly oddly. He did not go public with his trade request but nobody was disputing that it happened. He then met with Joe Tsai and Sean Marks and demanded the coach and the GM be fired. Which, I thought was the checkmate move.” He further added, “I think KD and myself underestimated the mettle of Joe Tsai, the owner of the Brooklyn Nets. I thought Joe Tsai was gonna say, ‘I just don’t want this embarrassment, this distraction.’
Lastly, Nick said, “What it would appear Joe Tsai’s motivations were, ‘I am not going to be told what to do by anyone. I am one of the richest people in the history of the world. I am incredibly powerful I am incredibly successful; Kevin Durant is not dictating terms to me.” Nick Wright feels that Kevin is bossy over Joe Tsai might have angered him as he is one of the wealthiest men, and he refuses to accept Kevin’s demand, had left him with no option but to continue with Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Durant failed to find a new team for himself
Kevin Durant was linked to a few teams since the news of his trade request went viral. Any team could have easily acquired him, but the give and take weren’t beneficial for both teams, so that the trade couldn’t go forward. It was rumored that Kevin wanted to play for Boston Celtics or Phoenix Suns, but the Nets made a higher demand to trade Kevin, and hence the deal was called off. Well, now Kevin will continue playing for Brooklyn Nets.
